Weather

Seven-day temperature forecasts for key locations across New York, color-coded by deviation from 20-year normals. High/Low pairs are shown in a compact grid with optional day-over-day deltas. Helps contextualize load forecasts and anticipate weather-driven demand shifts.

Map

Interactive map of real-time and day-ahead LMP across New York. Toggle between generator-bus and zonal views, switch markets (RT, DAM, or DART), and step through individual hours. The default price scale runs $40–$200 but is fully adjustable.

Overlay layers display active transmission constraints by market and time view, equipment outages, and the Northeast transmission system.

Prices

Real-time and day-ahead zonal and generator-level LMP with a customizable price scale (default $40–$200). Key DAM-to-RT spreads are calculated automatically, and tables highlight the highest and lowest live RT prices.

Zone selectors filter across all three LMP charts (DAM, RT, DA-RT) simultaneously. RT charts distinguish binding LMP (solid) from advisory forward-looking prices (dotted). Ancillary services charts drill into specific product and reserve-region combinations across NYISO’s nested reserve structure. Today and Weekly views available.

Constraints

Cumulative constraint cost by limiting facility across the day. The RT chart converts raw 5-minute RTD costs into a time-weighted hourly equivalent; a separate raw RTD chart shows interval-level detail. Summary tables break out total cost, active hours (DAM) or intervals (RT), and average cost.

DAM scheduled and real-time actual equipment outages are listed below, sorted by most recent start time for fast diagnosis of developing price events.

Load

NYISO load forecast versus actual for the full system or any individual zone. DAM forecast evolution charts show how the forecast has shifted over recent days.

With behind-the-meter solar increasingly important to the load picture, today’s BTM Solar forecast is shown by default (Weekly view shows seven-day forecast-vs-actual). DAM and real-time headroom charts display available generator capacity, scheduled MWh, and a headroom calculation (capacity − generation − the 2,620 MW NYCA 30-minute reserve requirement). As headroom narrows, ancillary-service shortages tend to increase.

Fuel Mix

Live snapshot of NYISO’s generation mix alongside MW and percentage-of-total trends across the day.

A built-in derate/trip detector scans interval-to-interval changes in Nuclear, Dual Fuel, Natural Gas, and Other Fossil Fuels to flag potential unit derates or trips, useful for aligning timing of ancillary-service shortages with price spikes. Supports Today and Weekly views.

Interchange

Live DAM-versus-RT comparison of net interchange across HQ, NPX, OH, PJM, and HQ CHPE interfaces. Time-series charts show scheduled and actual flows across the day, or the past seven days via the Weekly toggle.

Daily Patterns

Today’s market results overlaid on the previous ten days of history. Each chart renders today in bold with faint historical traces for context. Covers real-time load, DAM LMP, generation fuel mix, external interface flows, and DAM available generation.

Zonal History

Multi-year DAM zonal LMP and load analytics. 12x24 heatmaps, hourly shape curves, price duration, battery arbitrage spreads, year-over-year deltas, and zone basis analysis, all filterable by zone, year, and product.

EPA CEMS

Hourly gross load, heat rate, and CO₂ emissions rate for New York generating units from EPA Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems. Select up to 10 facilities and plot unit-level performance side by side.

Filter by date range or individual months. Defaults to the most recent six months of available data.

EIA-923 Data

Monthly electric generation and fuel consumption for New York from EIA form 923. Stacked generation by fuel type, fuel consumption trends, heat rate analysis, and plant-level drill-downs spanning 15+ years of historical data.

TCCs

Investigate any TCC source-to-sink path on a historical basis. Enter a source and sink, then explore three tabs of data: historical clearing prices, awards, and contract-path holders. Filter by tenor (1, 6, 12, or 24 months) and delivery month for targeted analysis.
