Clearing Prices by Locality
Locality Premiums
Premium over NYCA
Locality clearing price minus the NYCA price. 0 = locality constraint not binding (clears at the statewide price).
Supply Cushion
MW Cleared over Requirement
Excess of cleared UCAP above the locality requirement, as % of requirement. Thinner cushion → higher on the demand curve.
Spot Price vs Cushion (implied demand curve)
Each point = one month. Bold points = last 12 months; all history shown regardless of range.
Strip vs Realized Spot
Realized Spot minus Strip, by capability period
Average spot MCP over each 6-month capability period minus its strip auction price. Positive = spot cleared above the strip (locking the strip was the cheaper buy).
Seasonality
Spot MCP seasonal overlay
One line per calendar year; latest year bold.
Capability-period average spot
Mean spot MCP per Summer (May–Oct) / Winter (Nov–Apr) capability period.
